Cincinnati Gymnastics

If you follow gymnastics, you know Mary Lee Tracy. She is surrounded by my kids, my nieces and my nephew. Mary Lee was my gymnastics coach and my sister's coach too. She coached the Women's Gymnastics Team that won the gold in 1996 for the United States. She currently is training 4 girls who are on the U.S. national team made up of 12. These girls are hoping to be in the top 6 to make the 2012 Olympic Team.

Mary Lee has been a long time friend of our family. She invited the entire crew to come hang out for a few hours at the gym. The kids had a blast and we are planning on making it a yearly tradition. Thanks Mary Lee!!!

I always want to be teachable and willing to grow. I also hope my children desire that too. Anyway, most of our Christmas's in the past have been hectic and often not well pondered about the Lord's amazing gift of Jesus. This year, we really tried to change our focus and be intentional in our moments. We did the advent wreath, made art projects, read and acted out scripture in the hope of giving glory to the one who gave his life for us.

What a great trip! When we go to Cincinnati, we always pack a lot in and we love every moment. This trip we celebrated Paw Paw's birthday, Grandma Clare's birthday, lots of swimming, played with cousins, went to a VBS celebration and played with friends. I got to spend a morning with my mom's wonderful bible study group that has been together 30 years.

We packed in as much as possible during our time in Cincinnati. We celebrated paw-paw's, Grandma Clare's and Kalley's birthdays. Cliff and I had a date night. Mimi took the girls and I to the Zoo. We hung out at the Haney's and Munson's. We attended a VBS celebration. I went to Bible study with my mom and the women she was been studying with for about 30years...isn't that awesome!?! We had a blast and always look forward to when we get to go visit again!!!

Can you tell we had fun? Well, we did! What a great trip! We got to spend some quality time with Grandpa Cliff and Grandma Amy, also know as "Grandpa and Grandpa" by my kids...hilarious! Anyway, we had a blast and did a lot of playing. We went to a splash park a few times, went to the beach with some of our dear friends, went to the Orlando Science Museum and a Fish camp...fun times!

Well, my girls and I finally got to meet baby Judah and baby Jack...cutiest and happiest little boys in the World! Truly.

Friends bring joy to your life. I am so thankful for the friends I have in these women and the joy they bring to my life. I love them all. We have been friends for over 2o years. Isn't that awesome! I met all of them in the 3rd grade and we have seen each other through many seasons of life and we will contine.

And... I am pumped that we are finally going to have a girl's weekend!!!

Wow! This crazy crew of awesome kids are growing up too fast! I haven't seen most of the these kids since we moved here to Cape. I get together with the mom's most times I'm in Cincinnati but I haven't seen all the kids in too long! So, I just had to see them! And what a great group they are! I love them all!

I became friends with the mom's of these kids over 5 years ago. I love having them in my life. These women grow me in my walk with the Lord, in how I love my family and in how I love others. Yes, they are awesome!

Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Well, this verse has been consuming my heart and thoughts for weeks now. In the recent past, I started a devotional with the girls and read it during breakfast. They didn't like it...they didn't get it. So, I came to the conclusion, I need to try something else. Then, I remembered in a passing thought, my friend Amber had a picture of a tree with fruit in her house with the names of her children and the fruit of the spirit written with their names. Ok, great idea! Then I went to visit Cincinnati and my mom and I talked about teaching the kids God's word and truth and weaving it throughout every aspect of life. Then this same theme was talked about again in a book I've been reading on and off this summer. So, I prayed for the Lord to show me ways for His word to come alive in our family. I want to teach and show my girls what it means to know and love the Lord wholeheartedly. I want my children to know and love God's word.

The first teaching we have focused on is the fruit of the spirit.

Galatians 5:22
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Swimming Lessons

Chloe and Lizzie started swimming lessons today. I'm thrilled they both loved it! I knew Lizzie would greatly enjoy it but Chloe was a wild card because last year she was not a fan of lessons. And my poor Phoebe can't wait until she is old enough to take lessons. She is already like a fish!

Easter, a celebration that Jesus is the Risen Lord. And Yes, He is indeed! I want my children to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior at an early age and walk with him all of their days. I want them to love him and know his word. I want them to understand that Easter is not about candy and the Easter bunny...but about Jesus being Risen! So, we read scripture and talked about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and defeating death. I want them to know he truly is the son of God, Lord and Savior.

We stayed in Cape this year for Christmas and enjoyed celebrating together. We had some friends over on Christmas Eve and went to church that evening. Phoebe had her 2yr. well check today. I still can't believe she is two. Phoebe is growing up quickly. She is quite a unique individual. And I love it! She can be hilarious and delightful, then spitting mad and throwing tantrums. She can color and play independently for long periods of time and then next need all of your attention. She loves to take care of her babies. She loves yogurt, cottage cheese and spaghetti and meatballs. She loves to dance. She loves bath time. She loves her sisters as much as she loves life. She always wakes up easy and always ready to start the day. Oh yeah, and her verbal skills are expanding everyday. I can't believe how many things she knows. She makes our entire family laugh on a regular basis and brings incredible joy to our family. I praise the Lord for Phoebe because I know full well that she is fearfully and wonderfully made!
