This past Sunday we drove to Cairo, Illinois. This is the small town where the Ohio and Mississippi join. This little town was unlike any place we've ever visited. Years ago, it was an active river town. Now, it's the land time forgot with empty businesses and homes around every corner. It was heartbreaking.
